Apple Fritter Bites
Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these bite-sized apple fritters are packed with warm spices and juicy apple chunks. Drizzle them with glaze or sprinkle with powdered sugar for an irresistible snack!
Ingredients:
- For the Fritter Bites:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/3 cup milk

- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (or more, as needed)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Heat the Oil:
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pot or skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test by dropping a bit of batter into the oil—if it sizzles and rises to the top, the oil is ready.
- Fry the Fritter Bites:
- Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Make the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a bit more milk until you reach your desired consistency.
- Glaze the Fritters:
- Once the fritters have slightly cooled, dip them in the glaze or drizzle it over the top.
- Let the glaze set for a minute or two before serving.
