Beef and Gravy
Ingredients:
- 1 pound beef stew meat or cube steak
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
- Sear Meat: In a skillet, brown the beef over medium heat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
- Add Onions: Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Make Gravy: Stir in beef broth and brown gravy mix. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cover. Cook for about 1-1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Boil Potatoes: Cook the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain.
- Mash: Add butter and milk to the potatoes, then mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve:
Spoon the beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes for an ultimate comfort meal!
