Bistec Ranchero

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (any color)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped (or 1 can of diced tomatoes)
  • 1-2 jalapeños, sliced (adjust for heat)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:
  • Season the sliced beef with salt, pepper, cumin, and oregano.

  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.

  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Stir everything together and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
