Bottle Joe Biscuit Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 pound breakfast sausage (bulk or casings removed)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: diced bell peppers or onions for added flavor

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  1. Cook the Sausage:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. If using, add bell peppers or onions and cook until softened. Drain excess fat.
  1. Prepare the Biscuit Base:
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters and layer them in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  1. Mix the Egg Mixture:
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cooked sausage and half of the cheddar cheese.
  1. Assemble:
  • Pour the egg and sausage mixture over the biscuit pieces in the baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  1. Serve:
