Broccoli Cheese Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  1. Prepare the Broccoli:
  • If using fresh broccoli, steam or blanch it until tender but still bright green. If using frozen, thaw and drain excess moisture.
  1. Mix Ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, cooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
  1. Transfer to Baking Dish:
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  1. Add Topping:
  • If desired, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
  1. Serve:
