Broccoli Cheese Casserole
Ingredients:
- 4 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Broccoli:
- If using fresh broccoli, steam or blanch it until tender but still bright green. If using frozen, thaw and drain excess moisture.
- Mix Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, cooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- Transfer to Baking Dish:
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Add Topping:
- If desired, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
- Serve:
