Butter Swim Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, for a slightly sweet touch)
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Prepare the Butter:
- Melt the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet. Place the dish or skillet in the oven while it’s preheating to get the butter hot and bubbly.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).
- Add the Milk:
- Pour the milk into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough will be somewhat lumpy and thick.
- Pour the Dough into the Butter:
- Carefully remove the hot dish or skillet from the oven.
- Pour the biscuit dough directly into the hot, melted butter. Do not stir or mix; just pour it in and spread it out slightly with a spatula.
- Bake the Biscuits:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the biscuits cool in the pan for a few minutes before cutting them into squares or wedges.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
These biscuits are wonderfully rich and flavorful, thanks to the melted butter. They’re perfect on their own or with a bit of jam or honey. Enjoy!
