Butter Swim Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional, for a slightly sweet touch)
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  1. Prepare the Butter:
  • Melt the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet. Place the dish or skillet in the oven while it’s preheating to get the butter hot and bubbly.
  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).
  1. Add the Milk:
  • Pour the milk into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough will be somewhat lumpy and thick.
  1. Pour the Dough into the Butter:
  • Carefully remove the hot dish or skillet from the oven.
  • Pour the biscuit dough directly into the hot, melted butter. Do not stir or mix; just pour it in and spread it out slightly with a spatula.
  1. Bake the Biscuits:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Let the biscuits cool in the pan for a few minutes before cutting them into squares or wedges.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

These biscuits are wonderfully rich and flavorful, thanks to the melted butter. They’re perfect on their own or with a bit of jam or honey. Enjoy!
