Chocolate Cobbler
Ingredients:
For the Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups hot water
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make the Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour into the Baking Dish:
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
- In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
- Add Hot Water:
- Carefully pour the hot water over the entire dish. Do not stir; it will create a sauce layer underneath.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set. The cobbler will be bubbly and the edges will be slightly crispy.
- Serve:
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. This dessert is delicious on its own or served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
Tips:
- Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
- Add Nuts: For added texture, consider sprinkling chopped nuts on top before baking.
Enjoy your chocolate cobbler! 🍫✨
