Chocolate Cobbler

Ingredients:

For the Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Topping:

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups hot water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  1. Make the Batter:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  1. Pour into the Baking Dish:
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  1. Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
  1. Add Hot Water:
  • Carefully pour the hot water over the entire dish. Do not stir; it will create a sauce layer underneath.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set. The cobbler will be bubbly and the edges will be slightly crispy.
  1. Serve:
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving. This dessert is delicious on its own or served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Tips:

  • Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
  • Add Nuts: For added texture, consider sprinkling chopped nuts on top before baking.

Enjoy your chocolate cobbler! 🍫✨
