Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
For the filling:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Make the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the eggs, flour, and salt to the mixture. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If using a stand mixer, use the dough hook.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon together until well combined.
- Shape the Cinnamon Rolls:
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 12×18 inches).
- Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side, creating a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices.
- Second Rise:
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover them with a kitchen towel and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes until they have puffed up.
- Bake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Make the Glaze:
- While the cinnamon rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
- Finish and Serve:
- Once the rolls are done baking, let them cool slightly before drizzling the glaze on top.
- Serve warm and enjoy the soft, gooey cinnamon goodness!
