Classic Cherry Delight Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (or 1 container of Cool Whip)

For the Cherry Topping:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
  • In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until combined.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan to form an even layer.
  • Place in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the other layers.
  1. Make the Cream Cheese Layer:
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until well-combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, or use Cool Whip as a shortcut.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
  1. Assemble the Layers:
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled graham cracker crust.
  • Top with the cherry pie filling, spreading it gently to cover the cream layer.
  1. Chill:
  • Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2-4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  1. Serve:
  • Slice and serve chilled, and enjoy your Classic Cherry Delight!
