Enhanced Pecan Praline Pie Bark

Ingredients:

  • Graham Crackers:
  • 2 sleeves (about 20 or so) honey graham crackers
  • Praline Mixture:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark for richer flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or a pinch of sea salt for added flavor
  • Topping (Optional):
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark chocolate)
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and mist it with cooking spray. Arrange the graham crackers over the surface of the pan, breaking them apart if needed to fill in gaps. Set aside.
  1. Make the Praline Mixture:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly for 2 minutes until it becomes thick and bubbly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and optional cinnamon or sea salt for an extra flavor boost.
  1. Pour and Spread:
  • Quickly pour the hot praline mixture over the graham crackers. Use a spoon or offset spatula to spread it evenly, ensuring all crackers are well-coated.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the mixture is bubbly and golden. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  1. Optional Chocolate Layer:
  • If using chocolate chips, remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot mixture. Allow them to sit for a minute to soften, then spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top.
  1. Cool and Finish:
  • Allow the bark to cool at room temperature. Once cooled, sprinkle with flaky sea salt for a delicious contrast.
  1. Break Into Pieces:
  • Once fully cooled, break the bark into pieces. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

Tips:

  • Storage: This bark can be stored at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerated for longer freshness.
  • Flavor Variations: Try adding dried cranberries or mini marshmallows for added texture and flavor.
  • Gifting: Package the bark in clear bags tied with ribbon for a delightful homemade gift!
