Grilled Cheese Toast
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bread (your choice: white, whole wheat, sourdough, etc.)
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite)
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 tsp dried herbs (like oregano or basil, optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Bread:
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. If using garlic powder or dried herbs, mix them with the butter before spreading for extra flavor.
- Assemble the Toast:
- Place half of the slices, buttered side down, on a clean surface. Top each slice with a slice of cheese. If you like, you can add a second slice of cheese for extra gooeyness. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
- Heat the Pan:
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the Toast:
- Once the skillet is hot, carefully place the sandwiches in the pan. Cook until golden brown on the bottom, about 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted, another 3-4 minutes.
- Serve:
- Remove from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve warm. Enjoy your grilled cheese toast with a side of soup or salad!
