Philly Cheese Steak Crescent Ring
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) beef ribeye, thinly sliced (or deli-style roast beef)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- Optional: 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
- Optional: sesame seeds for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Cook the Steak and Veggies:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and remove from heat.
- Assemble the Crescent Ring:
- On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the crescent roll dough triangles in a circle with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward, forming a sun shape (there should be an empty circle in the middle).
- Spoon the beef and veggie mixture onto the wide ends of the crescent rolls, forming a ring.
- Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese (or your preferred cheese) over the beef mixture.
- Fold the Crescent Rolls:
- Fold the pointed ends of the crescent rolls over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends to secure the ring.
- Optional: Brush with Butter:
- If desired, brush the top of the crescent ring with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a golden, flavorful crust.
- Bake:
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Let the Philly cheese steak crescent ring cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like horseradish sauce, garlic aioli, or marinara.
Enjoy your cheesy, savory Philly cheese steak crescent ring! It’s sure to be a hit!
