Smashing Patty with Confidential Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Patty:
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Burger buns (4)
For the Confidential Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Make the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Form the Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (about 4 ounces each). Gently shape them into balls without overworking the meat. Season the tops with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Patties:
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef balls on the skillet and use a sturdy spatula to smash them down into thin patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy.
- Flip and Finish:
- Flip the patties, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness. If desired, add cheese on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Toast the burger buns lightly if desired. Spread a generous amount of confidential sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the patty on top, then add your favorite toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.). Finish with the top half of the bun.
- Serve:
- Enjoy your smashing patty with a side of fries or a salad!
Tips:
- Customize Your Toppings: Get creative with toppings like avocado, jalapeños, or bacon!
- Meal Prep: The sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Enjoy your delicious burgers! 🍔✨
