Smoked Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1/2 cup your favorite barbecue sauce (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps them get crispy when smoked.
- Season: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Add the chicken wings and toss until they are well coated in the seasoning.
- Preheat the Smoker: Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Use your choice of wood chips for smoking (hickory, applewood, or cherry are great options).
- Smoke the Wings: Arrange the wings on the smoker grate in a single layer. Smoke for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Optional Glaze: If you like your wings saucy, brush them with barbecue sauce during the last 15-20 minutes of smoking.
- Crisp the Skin (Optional): For extra crispy skin, you can transfer the wings to a hot grill (or broiler) for a few minutes after smoking.
- Serve: Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauces!
Tips:
- Experiment with different rubs or marinades to customize the flavor.
- Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping.
Enjoy your delicious smoked chicken wings!
