cheese fries made from boiled potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes (boiled and cooled)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
  • Ketchup, ranch, or any dipping sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Potatoes
    • Boil the potatoes until they’re fork-tender. Let them cool slightly, then cut into thick strips or wedges.
  2. Pan-Fry or Oven Bake
    • Heat a skillet with butter or oil and fry the potato strips until golden and crispy. Alternatively, bake them at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. Season
    • While the fries are still warm, sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat.
  4. Add Cheese
    • Place the fries on a baking sheet or in the skillet. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the fries.
    • If using the oven, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes until the cheese melts. For stovetop, cover the skillet with a lid and let the cheese melt over low heat.
  5. Serve
    • Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Enjoy your cheesy indulgence!
