Cream Cheese Bars with a Yellow Cake Mix Base

Ingredients:

For the Base:

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix (dry)
  • 8 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg

For the Sticky Layer:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 16 ounces powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with oil or butter.
  2. Prepare the Crust
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the dry yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until the ingredients are well mixed. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  3. Make the Sticky Layer
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the whisked eggs and mix for a few minutes. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until everything is well combined.
  4. Assemble
Spread the sticky layer mixture evenly over the crust layer in the baking pan.
  5. Bake
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake; the center should still be slightly gooey.
  6. Cool and Serve
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares.

Enjoy these creamy, sweet bars! They’re perfect for a quick treat or dessert.
