Italian Crescent Roll Bake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 pound sliced ham
  • 1/2 pound sliced salami
  • 1/2 pound sliced provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup banana pepper rings, drained
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Optional: Lettuce and tomato slices for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  1. Prepare Crescent Roll Base:
  • Unroll one can of crescent rolls. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Press the seams together and gently press the dough slightly up the sides of the dish to form a crust.
  1. Layer Ingredients:
  • First Layer:
    • Evenly distribute half of the sliced ham, salami, and provolone cheese over the crescent roll dough.
  • Add Toppings:
    • Spread the pepperoni, banana pepper rings, and roasted red peppers evenly over the meat and cheese layer.
    • Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the top.
  • Second Layer:
    • Layer the remaining ham, salami, and provolone cheese over the pepperoni and vegetables.
  1. Top Layer:
  • Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and carefully place it over the top of the layered ingredients. Press the seams together and seal the edges.
  1. Add Finishing Touches:
  • Brush the top layer of crescent dough with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for added flavor and a crispy, golden finish.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover with aluminum foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the bake to cool slightly before cutting into squares.
  • Serve with optional fresh lettuce and tomato slices on the side for added freshness.

Variations & Tips:

  • Add Veggies: You can add additional vegetables like sliced mushrooms, black olives, or onions for extra flavor.
  • Cheese Options: Feel free to use different types of cheese like mozzarella or cheddar if you prefer.
  • Make Ahead: This dish can be prepared in advance and refrigerated before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if cooking straight from the fridge.
  • Serve Warm or Cold: This bake is delicious both warm and at room temperature, making it a great option for parties or potlucks.
