Ingredients:
- 1 (4-6 lb) bone-in or boneless turkey breast
- 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup chicken or turkey broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for gravy)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Turkey Breast:
Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil or melted butter all over the turkey. - Season:
Mix the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the turkey breast, including under the skin if possible. - Place in Slow Cooker:
Pour the chicken or turkey broth into the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the seasoned turkey breast in the slow cooker, skin side up. - Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part of the breast. For faster cooking, cook on high for 3-4 hours. - Optional Step for Crispy Skin:
Once the turkey is cooked, place it on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the skin is golden and crispy. - Make Gravy (Optional):
Strain the cooking liquid into a saucepan. Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to form a slurry, then whisk it into the liquid. Bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened. - Serve:
Slice the turkey breast and serve with the gravy and your favorite sides.
This slow cooker turkey breast is juicy, flavorful, and practically effortless, making it perfect for holidays or an easy weeknight dinner!
