Philly Cheese Steak Crescent Ring

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) beef ribeye, thinly sliced (or deli-style roast beef)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
  • Optional: sesame seeds for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  1. Cook the Steak and Veggies:
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and remove from heat.
  1. Assemble the Crescent Ring:
  • On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the crescent roll dough triangles in a circle with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward, forming a sun shape (there should be an empty circle in the middle).
  • Spoon the beef and veggie mixture onto the wide ends of the crescent rolls, forming a ring.
  • Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese (or your preferred cheese) over the beef mixture.
  1. Fold the Crescent Rolls:
  • Fold the pointed ends of the crescent rolls over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends to secure the ring.
  1. Optional: Brush with Butter:
  • If desired, brush the top of the crescent ring with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a golden, flavorful crust.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  1. Serve:
  • Let the Philly cheese steak crescent ring cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like horseradish sauce, garlic aioli, or marinara.

Enjoy your cheesy, savory Philly cheese steak crescent ring! It’s sure to be a hit!
