Ingredients
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries (or raspberry jam, if preferred)
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (or puff pastry if you prefer a flakier bite)
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling
- In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Prepare the Dough
- Unroll the crescent roll dough (or puff pastry) on a flat surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles (or squares, depending on the dough you’re using).
- Fill the Dough
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each piece of dough. Top with a few fresh raspberries or a small spoonful of raspberry jam.
- Shape the Bites
- If you’re using crescent roll dough, roll the dough into small bundles or fold the corners inward to form little pockets. If you’re using puff pastry, fold the dough into squares or rectangles, creating little parcels.
- Brush with Egg Wash
- In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush a thin layer over the top of each dough bite. This will give them a nice golden color when baked.
- Bake
- Place the filled bites on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Finish and Serve
- Once out of the oven, let the bites cool slightly before serving. If desired, sprinkle the tops with sugar for an added touch of sweetness.
Tips
- For extra flavor, drizzle with a raspberry glaze or a bit of melted chocolate once they’ve cooled.
- These can be made with other fruits too, like blueberries or strawberries, for variety.
- If you prefer a smoother filling, you can blend the raspberries into the cream cheese filling before adding.
Enjoy these sweet, creamy bites that are sure to impress your guests! 🍇✨
