Beef and Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef stew meat or cube steak
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. Sear Meat: In a skillet, brown the beef over medium heat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
  2. Add Onions: Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  3. Make Gravy: Stir in beef broth and brown gravy mix. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cover. Cook for about 1-1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil Potatoes: Cook the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain.
  2. Mash: Add butter and milk to the potatoes, then mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve:

Spoon the beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes for an ultimate comfort meal!
